Heritage Brick Restoration & Repointing
Toronto has one of the largest concentrations of pre-war brick housing in North America. Homes built between 1880 and 1945 in Roncesvalles, Leslieville, the Annex, and East York were constructed with soft hand-pressed clay brick and natural lime mortars — materials that behave fundamentally differently from modern construction. The wrong mortar on this brick causes face spalling within a few winters, not eventual weathering.
